Welcome to Mining Now, the show that explores the latest trends and innovations in the mining industry. In this episode, we are thrilled to have Kati McCartney, President of FROSKR, join us as our guest speaker.
Filmed at the prestigious PDAC 2023, Kati shares her insights on the role of mining in climate change and how FROSKR is helping mining clients in Northern Ontario with all aspects of environmental compliance.
FROSKR is an environmental firm that was born in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. They built tech to help their mining clients monitor their air emissions in real-time to maximize their production from operations and stay within legislative compliance.
As the mining sector is responsible for 4 to 7 percent of greenhouse gas emissions globally, Kati emphasizes the need for realistic commitments and innovative technologies to reduce emissions. FROSKR is seeing lots of commitments from companies setting targets to reduce their footprints, and they are motivated to support the mining industry through this energy transition.
The path forward requires mass collaboration, global action, and authentic engagement with local first nations. FROSKR is proud to be supporting the mining industry in this transition, and Kati shares some real case studies to illustrate their projects in this space.
Tune in to this episode of Mining Now to learn more about the interconnectivity of ESG, scope three emissions, and the importance of mining in a sustainable future.
