MELA (Methane Emissions Leadership Alliance) is Canada’s most complete source of data, technologies, and solution providers that are dedicated to monitoring, measuring, and reducing methane emissions. MELA is a global innovation hub that consists of over 40 member companies that develop, manufacture, and deploy commercial technologies to aid in methane emissions reductions. Their executive director, Jackson Hegland, returns to Building Energy to discuss the advancements being made with respect to methane emissions reductions and how the industry is adapting to changing regulations.

The Alliance is at the forefront of the clean technology portfolio by engaging with and encouraging collaboration between various stakeholders throughout industry, finance, and government. MELA’s model is one that incentivizes growth, good stewardship, environmental responsibility, and technological innovation to meet the expansive clean energy needs as industry continues to transition to achieve global targets. There is more work to be done, but the collaboration and motivation has never been higher, thanks to champions such as the Methane Emissions Leadership Alliance.
