CE 4: Proton Technologies’ Zero Emissions Low-Cost Hydrogen Production | Hydrogen Power & Market ft Grant Strem

Key Information About Hydrogen Power, Proton Technologies & the Hydrogen Market

    • Governments are moving towards carbon free fuels and lower CO2 emissions.

    • Governments have committed to reduce air pollution emissions.

    • People are looking for alternative sources of energy outside traditional fossil fuels.

    • Proton Technologies has the goal to supply the world with 10% of the world’s energy resources by 2050

    • Much of the existing infrastructure and technology is already developed.

    • Proton uses a patented technology for ‘Hygienic Earth Energy’ (HEE), to convert hydrocarbon reservoirs into hydrogen mines and thermal generators, and simply leave the carbon and other pollutants in the ground.

  • Their technology is zero emissions low-cost Hydrogen Production from Oil Reservoirs.

Is it possible to create a continuous source of green, clean, and affordable energy from deep earth? With governments moving towards carbon free fuels and lower CO2 emissions and consumers looking for alternative sources of energy outside traditional fossil fuels, there is certainly demand.Grant Strem, Chairman and CEO of Proton Technologies joined Crownsmen Energy to discuss their patented technology, the global hydrogen market, and the opportunities for the Canadian Energy sector.

Proton uses a patented technology for ‘Hygienic Earth Energy’, to convert hydrocarbon reservoirs into hydrogen mines and thermal generators, and simply leaves the carbon and other pollutants in the ground. Their technology is a zero emissions low-cost Hydrogen Production from Oil Reservoirs solution. Their vision is to have all kinds of reservoirs converted – new and abandoned, light oil and heavy oil, gas and coal. Grant walks us through the process step by step from separating the oxygen to installing a filter especially designed to only allow hydrogen to come through to delivering the hydrogen to market. The Hydrogen market is not new; countries like Australia and Japan have made major investments into hydrogen technology and transportation infrastructure. Old coal fired coal plants can and have been converted to hydrogen powered facilities and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are common in countries like Germany. In the transportation industry more trains, ships, buses, and semi trucks now run off hydrogen. Some examples include busses by Ballard and semi trucks by Nikola Motor Company

When will Hydrogen overtake fossil fuels as the world’s main energy source? How will hydrogen vehicles and fuelling stations integrate into markets like the United States and Canada? What will be the primary technology that becomes the standard for producing Hydrogen? These are not easy questions to answer but companies like Proton Technologies will certainly be at the forefront paving the way forward.
