2010 Copiapó Mining Accident – How Trapped Miners Were Rescued

Cementation 2010 Copiapó mining accident, also known as “Chilean mining accident”, began on Thursday, August 5th 2010 with a cave-in at the San José copper–gold mine. Cementation was one of many companies involved in putting a plan into action to rescue the 33 miners who were trapped underground. Roy Slack shares a unique perspective in detailing how they built a plan and innovated to design equipment that could rescue the workers.
